Administrator Required - Deadline 1st Nov 2017
The Mark Tanner Sculpture Award is looking for an experienced administrator for this unique annual award.
The post would be for 2 – 3 days per week, £20k - £25k pro rata and would be run alongside projects within Standpoint Gallery.
We are looking for an experienced, highly organised and self-motivated person with strong written and verbal communication skills to co-ordinate all aspects of the MTSA.
You will have a knowledge of contemporary sculptural practice, an ability to work independently on research and a willingness to undertake any task within the gallery that might be deemed necessary for the exhibition, such as supporting the installation process, preparation of the space, publicity and hospitality for the private view.
There will be three main areas of activity for the successful applicant .
Firstly the advertising and co-ordination of the selection process of applicants for the following years award.
Secondly the management of all aspects of the current award winners tenure of the award and upcoming exhibition. This would include advertising and promotion, co-ordination with Standpoint within the gallery and education programme, liasing with the artists as to their needs regarding installation and organising the private view.
Thirdly, the trust wishes to expand the awards reach to all corners of the UK. To this end we are looking to take the current years award winners exhibition to venues around the UK as well as develop a higher profile through the media, both social and traditional. This will need researching, contacting and negotiating with possible venues around the UK.
The MTSA is run through Standpoint, which is a registered charity. The annual exhibition is held at Standpoint and there will be ongoing activities that the successful applicant would be expected to be aware of and be available to assist in when necessary. There will be some every day administration tasks that would be required.
