Nicola Tassie is an artist whose work focuses on the conceptual and material possibilities of ceramic form. Trained originally as a painter, she now works exclusively in ceramics. Unusually for a contemporary clay artist, she embraces both the studio pottery tradition to produce thrown domestic ware vessels, as well as working on more conceptual still live sets, installations and sculptural objects.
She has an ongoing collaboration with the designer Margaret Howell - making lamp bases and tableware, and exhibits her larger sculptural works at national and international Art and Design fairs.
She is a founder member of Standpoint Studios and is Director of Education projects.
